I saw a notice that this book was available for free today and downloaded it as an e-book from Amazon. I am using it as book for A.
Another Saturday Night and I Ain't Got No Body by Jennie Marts is about Sunny Vale and the members of the Page Turners' book club. Sunny's neighbor Edna sees a young man with a gun go into their neighbor, Walter's house. They find out that they have not seen Walter for awhile. Sunny goes shopping and bumps into a handsome man who follows her home. She does not realize it is the same man who moved in next door. She brings him some brownies the next day and sparks start to fly.
The women of the book club decide Sunny needs to date, so they decide to arrange 6 weeks worth of dates for her. These dates do not work out for Sunny but some of her friends wind up with more dates as a result. She finds out that Jake Landon is the grandson of her neighbor and does not think he could have been responsible for Walter's death. They think Walter may be dead because there was an explosion at his garage and personal items of his where found in the rubble. Jake had rushed to make sure Sunny was all right after the explosion and that is one of the reasons she does not think he murdered his grandfather.
To find out what happened to Walter and who finds love - you will have to read this wonderful book.
I loved this book so much that I only stopped reading it long enough to participate in #WWReaderton Twitter party and eat dinner. It is a romantic story and the descriptions of the people and the scenery are wonderful. I could see the events in my head while they happened. It certainly was a page-turner.
